Cathy is a partner in the Litigation department and her practice concentrates in the areas of real estate litigation, civil litigation, land use litigation, professional liability and appellate practice. Cathy’s real estate litigation practice has included representation of developers, landowners, abutters, municipal boards, municipalities and title attorneys in the Superior Court, Land Court, Appeals Court, Supreme Judicial Court and the United States First Circuit Court of Appeals.
As a highly skilled appellate lawyer, Cathy is the chair of the firm’s appellate practice group.
For over two decades she has prosecuted and defended multiple appeals in all major tribunals in Massachusetts, from administrative appeals in the Massachusetts state and federal trial courts up through the Supreme Judicial Court and the First Circuit. Cathy has also successfully prosecuted single justice appeals. Cathy has a thorough knowledge of the technicalities of appellate practice and procedure and is a highly effective appellate advocate.
Cathy also has extensive experience in professional liability defense, defending attorneys, engineers and other professionals in a wide variety of contexts.
